Many have talked about the famous Obudu Cattle Ranch but not so many have visited the arguable, most famous tourist attraction site in West Africa.



According to Wikipedia, Obudu Mountain Resort is a ranch and resort on the Obudu Plateau in Nigeria. It was developed in 1951 by Mr. McCaughley, a Scot who first explored the mountain ranges in 1949. The Ranch is characterized by an amazing weather, a weather which can be likened to that of Europe’. In addition, the surrounding environment consists of a natural evergreen carpet grasses with an amazing texture. No wonder, people from all parts of the world, visit the Ranch in order to see nature at its finest.

 In recent times, the Cross River State Government has developed the Ranch, while providing a world class infrastructure to keep the Ranch running at its optimum best. One of the amazing infrastructure put in place is the cable car. The cable car is known for its mind blowing movement. It is the fastest and most enjoyable means of transportation at the Ranch. It moves tourist from the bottom of the Ranch, while ascending at angle 45 degrees, slowly to the top of the mountain. The cable car gives one of the most amazing experiences for tourists.

Unfortunately, Nigerians don’t know the benefits of internal tourism. They prefer travelling to other countries on tourism escapades, whereas the cattle Ranch can provide most of these experiences back home. More pictures after the cut
